This 19th century, red brick Victorian house wasn’t always a desirable family home. The occupants, in the early days of it’s use, were not here to enjoy the roaring fire and cosy interior but were instead locked up in small cells as punishment for their crimes. Evidence of these cells are still present today, but we looked to integrate these unique spaces into a luxury modern home.
Our single storey extension creates a large living space at the rear, with terrace that captures the morning sun for a harmonious start to the day. The design seeks to retain the Victorian style by matching the weathered existing brick work to ensure the heritage of the building is retained.
